Employing hospitality and residential design cues to express warmth, quality and experience in a real-estate workplace.

The Switzer Group was hired by Urban Edge Properties to design the New York offices of their retail business. The brokers slotted to be working from this location were more geared to residential and hospitality markets, and this became a key driver for the design of the space, which was created to be sophisticated, tactile and generous. Wood features prominently, with a central large wooden wall that extends from the reception area into the workplace, creating a sense of flow and connectivity. In addition to reception area and open workstations, the project included the design of a boardroom, CEO office and restrooms, administrative station, conference room, seven offices, pantry, copy room and LAN room.
